Entertaining: 10 DIY Wedding Favors

I never really realized how expensive a wedding is until I started planning my own. There are so many costs I never imagined in every small detail. With this in mind, I am hoping to do as many DIY projects for my wedding as possible. Your wedding favors are an easy way to cut costs by going DIY. Here are 10 DIY wedding favors you could use for a wedding or even a special event:

Style Me Pretty

Give away recipes to your wedding guests. Print out your signature recipe, and ask your family members/bridesmaids to do the same. Print out all these recipes on nice card stock and package them nicely together with ribbon or in some type of a box. You can add your wedding date and other details on each card.

La Belle Bride

Give away candies in nice packaging. Visit La Belle Bride by the link above for a tutorial and free label print out for the above pictured mints.

Little Things Favors

I’m obsessed with the idea of macaroons for wedding favors, even though I have never actually tasted one. You can make them any color you like to match your wedding colors. Order packaging from a wholesale company, print out some cute labels, and you’re good to go.

Martha Stewart

I’ve been seeing people giving away plants, herbs, and seeds as wedding favors lately. It’s simple, cost effective, and doesn’t take a lot of time to put together.

Elizabeth Anne Designs

I love these jar packaged desserts and recipes I have been seeing all over Pinterest. This one pictured above is a cupcake in a jar. Click on the link for a recipe.

Smart Bride

Another idea using jars – package honey and granola in two separate jars. This could be really inexpensive if you buy in bulk. Package them nicely together for each guest to bring home.

Emmaline Bride

I love this idea for an outdoor, summer wedding. Homemade lemonade in adorable jars. Create simple labels to stick on the bottles. Your guests will be thankful for a refreshing drink on a hot day.

Camille Styles

These matches are cute, especially with the labels. Head over to Camille Styles for the tutorial on how to make these.

Hostess with the Mostest

This is a more sophisticated twist on the traditional wedding bubbles. Skip the old school plastic bottles, and go with tins that will match nicely with unique labels.

Being a coffee addict, I love this idea. Buy a large amount of burlap from any craft store, and create little pouches for coffee beans. I think this would be a cute idea for an outdoor, rustic wedding.
